Systems Thinking & Design

Systems thinking is a holistic approach to understanding complex and complicated issues. Whether applied to business, social relationships, societal dilemmas, material supply chains, or any other sector, mapping the connections between interconnected parts can offer insights as to how things are connected and affect each other over time that may not be initially obvious.

ABOVE: Waste is a man-made issue, and one that most regions struggle with. By examining the causal loops operating within the system, root causes (i.e. areas to focus solutions) become more apparent.

Issues like genetic editing are tremendously complex, and touch on social, scientific, and moral issues. Simplifying it to a digestible map allows for a better understanding of the system dynamics.
